Magic : the Gathering

This page is dedicated to Magic:the Gathering. It is not here to teach you how to play, to do that you can go to the Wizards of the coast, Magic : the Gathering official site (here) or buy Portal, Portal Second age or Magic starter sets. This site is here to give you a place to put up your decklists.

At the moment there are only a few decks but I want everyone to e-mail me some of theirs.

If you do not know about a card that is featured on this site you can e-mail me (above). Or you can buy an Inquest magazine, they have a complete card list of Magic : the Gathering in every issue.

*Decklists*

This is a deck that I made myself and enjoy it , I hope you can use it. It's called The Fire of futility

This is a control deck, Use the burn spells to destroy every creature your opponent brings out. These in combination with Repercussions and Bosium Strip are very effective. In the late game (if it gets that far) use Ensnaring Bridge to keep the big creatures off your back while you but time and wait for the kill card, Landslide. Use wasteland to get rid of annoying 'living lands' such as treetop village. The Cursed Scroll adds some protection against Circle of Protection Red and you can substitute in a Null Brooch against a deck that can dispense of the key Repercussions. This deck does well in a one-on-one game but suffers in a multi-player environment. This deck has been tested by me and i suggest to to anyone because it works well and it's great fun to see and opponent's face darken as you kill all his creatures.

This is another deck that I designed , I have not tested it so I cannot say for sure that it will work. If you do put it together, please e-mail me and tell me how it went. It's call Elven Allies

This deck has a very simple strategy, basically you have two options, you could swarm him over with an army of really big elves or you could use Lone wolf, Ivy Seer and Seeker of skybreak to go around his creatures. Use the desert twisters to get rid of irritating permanents and the Soothsaying to ensure that you get the cards that you need.

This deck was given to me by a good friend (sean o'conell) and it does rather well, it is mainly an artifact deck and is called Thopter Assault

This deck is essentially a swarm deck, it overpowers it's opponent with sheer numbers. Use the Citinal Flute to get out Thopter Squadron to create little 1/1 thopters, this with Dragons Blood to keep them coming and Coat of Arms for muscle, you'll soon have lots of really big flying creatures. Use Johrias Toolbox to keep important creatures in play and Pentagram of the Ages and Braidwood cup to keep you alive. All in all when it works it really works and it's consistent you will never have a horrid round with this deck.

This deck was e-mail to me buy Wurm-187 (he's working on the 'Mud Campaign' page) there will be a few others for him on here, almost as much as from me. He didn't include a name for this deck so I named it Fluctuator. If anyone uses it drop me an e-mail to tell me how it went.

Don't play creatures, use the cycling to mill your deck till you get a fluctuator then mill your entire deck so that 20 creatures are in your graveyard, then cast haunting misery and hopefully your opponent will be dead. N.B. If you get a Swamp, a Fluctuator and a Dark Ritual in your first hand, you may get a first turn kill - Play Dark Ritual and Fluctuator and go through your library till you have 20 creatures in your graveyard and a Haunting misery and a Dark Ritual in your hand, use the last mana to cast the ritual and then cast haunting misery.

This is another of my decks, it's type 2 legal and works quite well. It's called Sons of Thorn.

Sideboard

This deck is quite good, it's designed around Thorn Elemental like creatures, for these are the main components in the deck, use Branchwood armor and Momentum to get them big and your opponent is faced with a force of really big and virtually unblockable creatures. Use the Defence of the Hearts and Citinul Flutes to get out your big creatures fast (first get the Thorn Elementals, then the Rhox then the Ancient Silverbacks and last the Rushwood Elementals). The Desert twisters take care of annoying permanents and the Spidersilk armors take care of flying. Barbed wire takes care of protection decks until you can sideboard in a Thran Lens. Against a deck with many enchantments replace momentum with ancestral mask. Most of the time this deck is very fast, getting a second turn Lone Wolf and a third turn Blanchwood Armor or Momentum.

This is another one of Wurm-187's decks and is reputed to be very good, this deck is arguably the best around for those just starting out because it consists mainly of commons and is therefore easy to put together. It's called Sudden Growth.

This is my current play deck, hey it might sound like a piece of sh-t filled with a cr-pload of commons, but it's pretty dam fast. Play this deck aggressively, always get a creature out on the first turn. Once a creature is in play, focus on hurting you're opponent. Later when you have more creatures you should attack, wait for blockers to be declared, and the pump up those unblocked creatures as much as you can. Example: Play a Skyshroud Ridgeback first turn. Then next turn attack him, see if he does anything to the Skyshroud Ridgeback ( like terror or something , if nothing chuck a scent of ivy on it for +4/+4 and then a giant growth for +3/+3 -> He takes 9 damage on the second turn.
